Family-friendly Camp Sites For Kids Around Valencia

If you want to spend a different kind of summer experience with the children and leave the city of Valencia without going far, there is nothing better than a family campsite where you can stay in a unique place and enjoy nature. These sites usually offer a lot of recreational activities, so there will never be time to get bored. We have prepared a list of great campsites in the Valencian Community where you will find everything you need to enjoy a fantastic holiday with your family!

1. Campingred Altomira

This campsite is located between two natural parks (Sierra Espadán and Sierra Calderona), 35 km from the beach and only 40 minutes from the city of Valencia. Its privileged location makes it the ideal place to enjoy nature and be close to the beach and the city at the same time. If you want to live a complete camping experience, you can stay in your own tent or in one of the bungalows. The plots for tents are in the upper part of the campsite and distributed in terraces overlooking the valley of the river, Palancia, and the mountains of the Sierra de Espadán. The plots range from 60 m2 to 100 m2 and they all have water and electricity. The bungalows have 5 to 6 beds and are equipped with a kitchen, fridge, microwave, TV, WC, shower, heating, blankets and air conditioning. The common facilities for everyone include a cafeteria and restaurant service, swimming pools, a children’s playground, shops, barbecues, communal bathrooms, laundry service, a mailbox, kayak and bicycle rentals, and much more. Camping Altomira is open all year round and accepts pets.

2. Devesa Gardens

This campsite is located in the heart of Valencia’s Albufera, where you and your family can embark on a unique natural experience just 700 meters from the beach and the El Saler golf club. Devesa Gardens has 23 fully equipped rustic-style wooden bungalows where you can enjoy the relaxing natural environment, next to the magnificent central lake, La Albufera. On the other hand, if you prefer a campsite and a more direct contact with the nature, they have 87 plots of different sizes with newly-renovated toilets, electrical connections, shade areas and free Wi-Fi. The facilities feature two swimming pools and a children’s water park, Aquadevesa, where the little ones will enjoy water play to the maximum. The complex also has football, tennis, basketball, volleyball, paddle and ping-pong courts, and an arena offering equestrian shows.

3. Valencia Camper Park

Valencia Camper Park is a camping site and area for motorhomes, located only 12 km from the city, in Bétera. It is next to a metro station with direct connection to the center of Valencia, yet is in a rural and wooded environment. The rates (from 12€/day) include basic services such as grey and black water emptying, a Wi-Fi connection, bathrooms and showers, sinks, the use of common areas such as swings, a bio-healthy circuit, picnic tables, and a swimming pool during the summer season. You cannot connect with an electrical supply, but you use four amps to six amps. It is clean energy because Valencia Camper Park is an ecological campsite not connected to an electricity grid, but generates its own energy through photovoltaic solar panels, with generator group support, if necessary. Your children will enjoy camping just a few minutes from the city and meet other campers without foregoing basic amenities.

4. Torre La Sal 2

If you are looking for a campsite to stay with the children in the Valencian Community, this is an excellent option. Camping Torre La Sal 2 is a family campsite , nicely landscaped and located on the Costa de Azahar, 3 km to the North of Oropesa del Mar and next to the Prat de Cabanes natural park. This is the perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city – just an hour’s drive away. Its facilities include comfortable bungalows and mobile homes with enough capacity for the whole family, as well as spacious plots where you can park your vehicle.
Among its biggest attractions are the various entertainment options: it has three theme pools with a children’s area with water attractions, as well as several sports facilities and a children’s playground, where children can have fun with Bravito and Mansita, the campsite pets. There is also a gym, restaurant, discotheque, laundry service, hairdresser, spa, canine center, bicycles for hire and refrigerators.

5. Ribamar Camping and Bungalows

This campsite located in Castellon is just an hour and a half from the Sierra de Irta Natural Park. It is considered one of the most fascinating natural parks on the Mediterranean coast, and the perfect destination to stay with your family in the Valencian Community. It has 41 wooden bungalows and large plots, just 100 meters from incredible natural coves. In addition, it is surrounded by a unique natural landscape, which you will be able to explore with your children along multiple hiking and bicycle routes. If you prefer to stay in the facilities, there are different options so that the children do not get bored: several swimming pools, a children’s playground and a multi-sports area. They also have a restaurant, supermarket, libraries and other common areas.

6. Oasis Country Park

Oasis Country Park is a rural camp-like complex surrounded by woods in the town of Rugat (Valencia). This campsite for tents or caravans is located a few kilometers from the Archaeological Museum of Gandia and the International University of Gandia. It has a seasonal outdoor swimming pool with a seating area, a hydro-massage bathtub, petanque courts, a fishing lake and a children’s play area. The establishment has several types of accommodations from which to choose, including caravans, mobile homes and bungalows. All have their own outdoor areas and some have satellite TV and a private bathroom. The bungalows and mobile homes have a kitchen. Pets are allowed upon request. In Oasis Country Park, you have a restaurant at your disposition, or the possibility of buying a snack in the supermarket. You can also enjoy your favorite drink in the lounge or pool bar.

7. Camping Arena Blanca

In a unique environment, between the mountains and the beach is the campsite, Arena Blanca, five minutes from the beach and ten from the town center of Benidorm. This establishment uses renewable energy and offers complete facilities, including a bright and cozy restaurant, specializing in paella. There is a cafeteria with access to a large terrace, located next to the pool. Guests appreciate the supermarket and the great garden with chairs for sunbathing and a children’s play area. Some of the amenities include a children’s entertainment service, tourist information and cars for hire. You can stay on the plots, in the bungalows, the mobile homes or a studio. The bungalows, studios and mobile homes have one, two or three bedrooms and a maximum capacity of five or six people. All are equipped with air conditioning, heating, satellite TV, a Wi-Fi connection and parking space. The plots accommodate cars, motorhomes or tents. They have water and electricity, and are surrounded by shade trees.

8. Camping Eden

Camping Eden offers spacious and modern facilities, just a few meters from the fine sandy beaches of Peñíscola. This place is ideal for family holidays with children and is less than two hours from the city of Valencia. Camping Eden is located in front of the north beach of Peñíscola, a few meters from the central city. The municipal sports facilities are located right next to it. The camping grounds are completely covered by trees that offer wonderful shade during the sunny days of summer. The facilities include lodging in plots of different sizes and in comfortable bungalows. They offer entertainment, Wi-Fi, a cafeteria and restaurant, communal toilets, bathrooms adapted for the disabled, a supermarket, sports area, jacuzzi, game room, swimming pool, children’s mini park, laundry, motorhome guard, and much more.

9. Marjal Costa Blanca Camping & Resort

This is one of the most modern Campings resorts in Europe with facilities of great quality. In fact, it is equipped with everything you need to enjoy an unforgettable family holiday, from bungalows and plots of different sizes to park your own motorhome to glampings, a new concept in accommodations that combines the comforts of a hotel room with nature in a campsite. What the children will surely like the most is the incredible water park with two kid’s pools, hydro tubes and slides. There is a mini club, the site of all kinds of activities and games, so that the little ones never get bored. The facilities offer restaurants, a spa, gymnasium, sports fields, hairdresser, medical services, transport to the beach, a supermarket, bicycle and cart rentals, barbecues, an auditorium, game rooms, a library, and much more. The nearest beaches are La Roqueta, equipped for public use, El Rebollo and Los Tussales, surrounded by dunes and among the best virgin beaches in the area. This camping accommodation is about 2 hours from Valencia, but the journey is certainly worth it.

10. Camping Azul

Situated on the shores of the sandy beach of Oliva (ideal for water sports), you can enjoy a quiet holiday in a family atmosphere. Several kilometers from this campsite are the towns of Denia and Gandia. In the beach area, children can learn windsurfing and kitesurfing. If you prefer other activities, there is a Children’s Club and animation for kids. The different plots are delimited with hedges of oleanders; they are next to the sea in the middle of orange tree fields. In addition, they offer bungalows for 3-6 people in case you want a little more comfort. The campsite has hot water in all the sanitary facilities, a washing cabin for babies, and a toilet cabin for the disabled, consisting of a toilet, shower and washbasin. Washing machines, dryers and an ironing table are available. They have refrigerator rentals, a space equipped for your windsurfing equipment and Wi-Fi throughout the campsite. Among the main activities for the whole family are petanque competitions, ping-pong championships, beach football, beach volleyball, a tasting of gigantic paellas, a musical beach atmosphere, live music, water sports such as windsurfing, kitesurfing and fishing – all adding up to the best holiday atmosphere.

11. La Marina Camping & Resort

These resort facilities are located in Elche (Alicante) in the middle of nature and next to a beautiful beach of fine sand that has been awarded the European Blue Flag. The Camping resort occupies an area of 70,000 m2 with 430 plots and 90 fully-equipped bungalows. What really makes this campsite an excellent choice for children are the many recreational and entertainment activities. There is a lake pool with slides, waterfalls and a Jacuzzi, with a space reserved just for the kids. Let’s not forget to mention the impressive water park with soft, kamikaze and fast track slides. In addition, the resort has a very entertaining animation program full of shows, as well as a mini club and children’s leisure park, the MarinaPark, equipped with all kinds of attractions.

12. Camping Las Aguas

Las Aguas campsite is located in the municipality of Cañizar del Olivar, in the region of the mining basins in the Maestrazgo cultural park, very close to the Martín River. In a natural and exceptional spot, camping Las Aguas offers the possibility of an endless number of excursions, on foot or BTT, as well as visits to a great variety of wild fauna and autochthonous flora, surrounded by pine and holm oak forests. There are both cabins and a camping area. The campsite is fully equipped with 29 delimited plots. A wide gravel path in the central part divides the lawn area where the plots are located, each with its own electricity and individual lighting. The cabins are fully equipped and have all the necessary amenities to relax for a few days. The capacity is 6 people in two double rooms (and a cot upon request). There is also a dining room with a double sofa bed, a table for six, a side table, kitchen, washbasin and shower as well as a nice porch for the cool summer nights of Cañizar del Olivar. The campsite features a restaurant, barbecues, a bar, different adventure activities and a cozy playground with swimming pool for children to enjoy in the middle of nature.
